Warramunda Liv Zak Malbec 2022

Fascinating to see two vintages of Yarra Malbec from this team available at the same time. Take your pick. For me, both appeal but this marginally older example wins at the moment. That said, it is a toss of a coin. The colour is a purple maroon. The nose gives us mulberries, coffee beans, mocha and florals with darker berries. There is serious intensity here. Notes of oak are evident and the palate moves to more cassis flavours with spices. Showing bright acidity, this is more refined for me, with really good length and fine, gentle tannins. A really attractive Malbec which will drink well for at least the next eight to ten years.
