Wild Ren Shiraz 2021

Share

A blend of Hunter Valley and McLaren Vale fruit that produces a spice-charged young red. Not sure about the reason behind the blend other than Wild Red doesn’t mind moving outside the Hunter region for inspiration. Peppercorn, spice, licorice, earth and chocolate sit well within a core of ripe, black fruits. On the bouquet alone, the marriage of the two regions looks like a successful union. The black-fruited palate is spice-charged in peppery and clove notes with background vanilla woody oak and chocolate. The joining of forces of Hunter earthiness tethered to Vale’s luscious ripe black fruits works well. Looks a treat now but there’s plenty left to explore over time.
