Brokenwood Wines Indigo Vineyard Beechworth Chardonnay 2019

Share

These guys have been dabbing in Beechworth for some years now, especially with varieties like chardonnay, where the cooler environs are ideal for the variety. It’s a classy wine with a portion of barrel fermentation adding palate and aromatic complexity and texture. About one third was new oak, and that’s important to spice things up. Whole bunch pressing, which can be tricky if the fruit and stalks are not ripe, has brought further structure into the palate. Yet it retains an essential fine
purity with a mix of peach and pear with an edge of grapefruit.
