Welland Old Hands Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

Has a touch of old school Barossa with the simplicity of its label and title and its dedication to the region’s long-time grape growers. Old Hands brings an understated, country warmth. The grapes are in good hands. All the good things here to smell and taste in leaf, briar, Aussie bush notes, touch of rhubarb earthiness, undergrowth, dense black fruits, chocolate and woodsy spies. Oak is nicely handled and managed throughout, and while it definitely plays a role it’s not an upfront role. Structurally, it’s Cabernet tannic firm, and texturally it’s smooth all the way.
