Welland Old Hands Barossa Shiraz 2021

Share

What a story – a rundown old vineyard in the heart of the Barossa is rescued by an experienced wine couple up to the challenge of restoring it and its once grand reputation. Planted in 1923, the 1.7ha vineyard is exclusively Shiraz, some of which – together with other locally sourced old vine Shiraz – contributes to Old Hands. This is Barossa Shiraz that delivers all the depth and concentration of a top year regarded by many as a classic. Aussie bush scents of briar, spearmint, menthol join with black fruits, woodsmoke, earth and spice. Confidently framed in fine tannins, it moves effortlessly across the palate, finishing long. A quality Shiraz from the deep heart of the Barossa.
