Whisson Lake ‘White Label’ Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir 2012

Share

It’s not often you get to see Aussie pinot with a bit of age. When writing wine lists it’s always a treat to see some older vintages available to add balance and intrigue.  2012 was a classic vintage and this is very charming with brooding aromas of dark cherry, wet earth, blood plum and dried rose petals. The palate is mouth-filling and decadent, still with lots of layers of primary fruit plus some spicy tobacco and a savoury, tannic grip. The length is refined and long and the acidity is attractive, all still with plenty of fuel left in the tank!
