Windowrie Pig in the House Rosé 2022

A decent bottle of Rosé has a few key markers. It must look appealing. It must have an inviting nose, and it must have a degree of interest on the palate. It doesn’t sound too hard, but there are a surprising number of watery iterations out there on the market. Luckily, this Sangiovese based wine is not one of those. A pretty blush is followed through with a nose that straddles watermelon rind and pomegranate with a ribbon of savoury dried prosciutto. The palate is an abundance of watermelon, just ripe wild strawberries and lean dried meats. There’s sizeable length, and the texture and weight of the wine is mouth filling. A delightful and balanced rose that would work with or without sunset snacks. An added bonus that it is Australian Organic Certified.
