The new age of Chardonnay sees slimmer wines emerging, and they’re looking pretty svelte. Free of the burden of too much oak and too much everything, they sing with greater varietal purity.
That, by way of introduction, leads us to Yes, Said The Seal and a Chardonnay that celebrates freshness but also complexity.
Inviting aromas of crunchy apply, melon, nectarine, straw, almond meal.
The more detailed palate moves into nougat, grilled nuts, with a flash of honey and mealy texture, but it is the line of brisk acidity that drives the wine and brings it home. Moreish.
