Yow Yow Limited Release Yarra Valley Chardonnay 2017

Share

For those with long memories, the 2017 vintage in the Yarra Valley was heralded as a great year, arguably the best since 1992. If you are going to issue a limited release wine, this is the year in which to do it. Bottle age has delivered some attractive exotic notes to this warm and unctuous Chardonnay. Lemongrass, ginger, yellow peach, mango skin, fig and nut crowd the bouquet. Satisfyingly rich and boasting plenty of flavour, the palate sings in lifted citrus, stone fruits and pear, lovely spice and ginger, then gently nutty and creamy to close.  Drinking at it best now, especially so if the food match involves roast chicken.
