Brother and sister Amelia and Trent Burge’s family roots stretch back over six generations. Their family name Burge is honoured within the Barossa and for very good reason. The Limited Release Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon is a wine to get your hands on. The classic blend of Australia’s two most iconic varieties are put together with all the respect due to each component. A red berry core of raspberry and strawberry are wrapped up with blackberry and liquorice root. Slurpy, juicy fruit and nicely framed silky tannins with good support of subtle oak. This is a wine made with thought, care, and above all excellent fruit quality. Drink with grass fed sirloin off the BBQ.
Shanteh cut her teeth at Sydney’s Award-Winning Quay restaurant where she worked for over a decade and was Head Sommelier from 2018 till 2022. She has been nominated for the Good Food Guide Sommelier of the Year award on three occasions and claims that her experience as a Len Evans scholar as one of the highlights of her career. Shanteh hosts her own weekly podcast ‘Over A Glass’ with the Deep in the Weeds Network and spends her time writing for various publications and judging at numerous wine shows across the country.
