Twenty five percent matured in new Bordeaux oak barriques, with the remainder in two and three year old Bordeaux barriques for seven months. Punchy and vibrant aromas of blueberry, plum, mulberry and blackberry are supported by nutmeg and white pepper spice, with a gaminess beneath. The palate is soft, roundy and juicy, bursting with fruit akin to the nose and with a similar welcome foil of spice. Blackberry leads the charge though, and the tannins are fine, grainy and laced with mocha bitterness adding appeal. A fruit forward style, with lovely vibrancy and fruit quality.
