The 2022 vintage in the Barossa turned out to be mighty good, and this is yet another example of what was being produced. As the name suggests, it was a selection of the best barrels from a number of vineyards throughout the Barossa. A striking feature is its elegance and refinement through the palate. On the nose, you’re getting those fairly typical vanillin, plummy, spicy notes. But then the palate delivers its cache of fruit, oak, and tannin into a delightfully poised and focused long finish. That touch of vanillin oak adds a balancing touch. An excellent wine.
