Green melon and lemon peel meld with ground cinnamon spice before subtle oak-derived woodsmoke adds further complexity. There’s a mineral core that gains focus with air, along with deeper white stone fruit and white pear tones. Pear blossom prettiness emerges with further time in the glass. The palate shows lovely grapefruit-driven tensility and energy, with lemon peel again, flickers of white peach, white pear, cedar and cinnamon spice, and that same woodsmoke tone as an underlay. Lovely texture and flow, with a frame of tight-grained phenolics adding shape through a finish of good length. Focused and distinctive, confidently showcasing Bellbrae’s limestone soils.
