Berrigan Shiraz 2021

Share

Adelaide Hills Shiraz is an exciting thing and this release, from the well-established and highly regarded Shining Rock Vineyard in Nairne, now in the family-run hands of Dan Berrigan and Wendi Ticao, is very much a shining light for the varietal and regional pairing. It’s in an opulent aromatic style, the nose imbued with the woody spice of excellent French oak, the wine having matured in barrel for 16 months. And the fruit, all about blackberry and dark cherry juiciness, is spectacular in its primary delivery, a savoury pepperiness adding texture and palate seasoning to the finish. Lots of staying power, too, yet always medium bodied with energy and vitality. Delicious and moreish.
