Bimbadgen Estate Alter Chardonnay 2021

Share

The fruit here is sourced from the Merton Vineyard in the Upper Hunter. Great to see a Chardy given some time in the cellar before release, especially at this cracking price. Fermentation was in a mix of oak barriques and puncheons, before the wine had ten months maturing in a mix of new and older French oak. The colour is a shining pale lemon. The nose offers notes of nuts, stone fruits, florals and even has hints of lemon sponge cake, supported by touches of gunflint lurking in the background. The texture is supple, while the wine is of medium length. Offering bright acidity, it is most attractive with no lack of flavour. Enjoy over the next couple of years.
