Black & Ginger Miss Piggy Muscat & Riesling 2024

There is a reason for blending Muscat with Riesling which becomes pretty obvious from the first taste. Miss Piggy is a nod to the off-dry style of white wine which goes so well with spicy Asian food (a fact the winemaker notes on the wine label). The role of residual sugar, Muscat aromatics and citrussy fresh Riesling is compelling in this wine. The balance of the three is pitch perfect. There’s weight to this wine, and texture is a real feature – this is no lightweight – which is the basis for a rich concentration of citrus, mandarin, apple and pear spiced with notes of ginger. The balanced acid/sugar interplay is a thing to admire and enjoy.
