Old vine complexity and youthful energy join forces to present one heck of a special Chardonnay. There’s that gorgeous aromatic lift combined with a deep concentration of fruit that pulses with life. Immediately engages in aromas of white peach, nectarine, Meyer lemon, quince, biscuit and hints of honeysuckle. In youth, it is mineral bright and lively with a complex weave of ripe stone fruit, citrus, gentle almond biscuity notes and mealy warmth, layered and boasting the impeccable balance of a tightrope walker. Fruit is sourced off the original plantings of Chardonnay at Main Ridge back in 1980. The rewards are many with this kind of quality viticulture and winemaking.
