Brand & Sons Honeysuckle Riesling 2024

Riesling in Coonawarra was once a most prevalent variety and it always produced a fine and enjoyable drink. The vines providing the fruit were planted forty years ago. Only free run juice is used and fermentation is stopped with a touch of residual sweetness still evident. 500 dozen. The colour is a stunning pale lemon. There is quite a minerally, chalky opening with citrus blossoms, mostly lemon and grapefruit, along with spices and beeswax. A lovely, supple texture, seamless in structure, with very good length and a fine line of acidity running the full journey. The very gentle sweetness is hardly evident with such fine balance. This is for drinking over the next six to eight years.
