A very light hue in the glass, this doesn’t speak loudly but gains assertiveness and detail as it opens. A swift decant will coax it out. This has fig hearts and red velvet cake throughout, some sandy tannins and uplifting acidity. This could be called confected by some but the tannins firmly stand upright and acidity rolls in gentle waves to make for a very fine wine of finesse. There is powdered paprika and some mace spice. A wonderful wine to peer into and pay close attention. Good value. Drink now or cellar 2-3 years further. This calls for the likes of veal tartare or sous vide lamb loin.
