Brokenwood Vegas Block Shiraz 2022

Sultry seduction from the first inhale. Plump ready cherries, inky blackberries, violets, pink musk sticks, Turkish delight, mint slice biscuits, cinnamon doughnuts, licorice, hot chocolate and dusty country roads. An absolute journey of a wine and I could not stop coming back for another swirl of the glass. In the mouth, the fruit is bright and very juicy – strawberries, red currants and blueberries. A herbaceous thyme-leaf lift and a slightly salty gravelly note add depth.  It’s a medium-bodied style with supple, round tannins and a rhubarb-esque textural acidity. A fascinating wine with a lifted elegance not often associated with the Hunter Valley.
