Brokenwood Wines Wildwood Road Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

Share

For a company based in the Hunter Valley they certainly do Margaret River well and this is no retiring violet. It is a Bordeaux like red with structure to burn right now which is underpinned by powerful and supremely complex fruit.

Deeply coloured there is blackberry and blackcurrant fruits with sage, thyme and gravelly complexity all supported by well handled oak. Mid-weight and quite closed now it ripples with dark fruits again with that gravelly edge which sits on a bed of rich but fine tannins. Exceptional balance and length top off what is a delicious Margaret River Cabernet – give this ten years to show its best and then enjoy with a slow cooked saddle of lamb.
