Camile Cayran Le Chêne Noir 2022

Share

A fascinating blend from a single vineyard near Mont Ventoux in the Rhone’s Vaucluse department. Half Grenache, 30% Syrah and 20% Carignan, the last of these fortuitously maintained as a treasured variety by the grower. The wine has genuine regional garrigue aromas of earth, crumbling rock walls and dried herbs, followed by a mostly crimson cherry flavour profile with obvious anise and pepper-like spice traits. While ripe and juicy, it’s fresh and energised as well. Easy drinking imbued with distinctive terroir character.
