Cape Mentelle Sauvignon Blanc 2022

Bursts forth in a lively rush of gooseberry, nettle, green apple, green bean and citrus aromas. The tempo doesn’t let up as it goes on to deliver a juicy, crisp style of Sauvignon with just the merest hint of winemaking intrigue, in this case, a short time on lees and some oak maturation has brought about a light, middle-palate texture and warmth. It’s a nice counterpoint to the crunchy, tart, twist-of-lemon acidity that really works the tastebuds. Hails from a warmer vintage but keeps its varietal cool with structure and a wild, herbaceous attitude.
