Cape Mentelle Trinders Shiraz Cabernet 2018

2018 was the year Cape Mentelle decided to replace the Merlot in the iconic ‘Trinders’ red with Shiraz, a fitting nod to the iconic Australian blend that is Shiraz Cabernet (Something that is quite rare within the region). An opulent yet savoury wine that sits in medium bodied territory and has the cool structure of southern Margaret River fruit. 

Classic Shiraz and Cabernet characters overlap beautifully here, rewarding the drinker with layers and layers of flavor. Cassis and graphite jostle for attention alongside smoked meats, leather and plush red fruits. The tannins are elegant and tapered, offering excellent support and nothing more. Unashamedly confident and pleasing in every way.
