Castelli Estate Il Liris Chardonnay 2021

Share

We have here a Chardonnay that speaks very clearly about where it comes from – WA’s Great Southern region – the vintage, a long ripening 2020/2021 growing season, and the decisive thinking of winemaker Andrew Vesey. Vesey has set out to create a wine with a particular fulsome style, well built, solidly framed Chardonnay with a fair bit of toasty oak, baked spiced grapefruit and dried orange citrus flavours, and a creamy palate feel. It’s rich, in a sense old school, yet with well-retained acidity to drive its middle-heavyweight energy. Lots to engage with and celebrate for its definite style statement.
