Not your usual plummy and light-weighted Gamay, C’est La Vie sports more muscle power than most. Blackberry, baking spices, chocolate, anise with a touch of confection, the bouquet offers an insight into what follows. This is a dry red with a strong personality in rich black and red fruits offering a pretty full-rounded wine taste. It’s a handy food wine, too, something to accompany a winter warming casserole maybe. It has size and weight on its side with noticeable and slightly jangly tannins and acidity. Shows another side to the grape which will be attractive to many.
Exclusive to Aldi stores.
