Chalk Hill Alpha Crucis Blewitt Springs Syrah 2021 

A lick of dried lavender and rosemary signals a little whole-bunch work that is well integrated into the core of the wine at this point. Then, it’s all about polished blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, and plums. The heart of the wine is a sensory delight, with its fleshy, savory core sweetened by the delicate nuances of vanilla, milk chocolate, and cedar from the oak. Like the whole bunch character on the nose, the oak has seamlessly integrated into the fruit, adding an irresistible savoury edge to the palate. That bittersweet tannic bite right at the end makes this Syrah a hell of a wine.
