Mitu Wines Chenin Blanc 2025

Share

Green apple, finger lime, pear skin and apricot kernel. This single vineyard Chenin Blanc is full of wonder, ambition and juvenile exuberance. It reminds me of eating fruit plates in 100% humidity. In the mouth, it’s ripe-fruited and flinty, the pure fruit cocooned by characterful nuance and the quiet complexity of barrel ferment. Geraldton wax, crushed rocks and the Indian Ocean. There is real density here too, almost limoncello-like in its concentration. It makes your lips smack together, and the corners of your mouth inch upwards. In its entirety, this wine may present as easy to understand and instantly likeable, and it is, but don’t be fooled by its characterful personality. There is plenty of intellect here, and knowing winemaking too. A good reminder of the bright future, and current era, of Western Australian Chenin Blanc.
