Charles Melton Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

While Melton is often celebrated for Shiraz and Grenache, its Cabernets deserve attention. Fruit comes from the Kirsch Vineyard in Krondorf and some 1927 plantings at Roland Flat. The wine displays leafy blackcurrant aromatics, subtly more restrained than the 2021 vintage. Ripe, plush fruit is intricately integrated, supported by fine chalky tannins and judicious oak. Persistent, long, and elegantly poised on the finish. A super wine.
