Chateau Prieure Marquet 2016

Share

A very good example here of the kind of classy Bordeaux you can find outside of the top villages on the Right Bank. This 100% Merlot is packed full of charm with layers of ripe blackberry, olive and cedar fruits with sweet oak sitting comfortably in the background showing the power and richness of fruit we’ve come to expect from the exceptional 2016 vintage. It’s then bone dry with ample flesh; the tannins quite firm and structural for Merlot with dark fruits showing the first signs of aging thanks to dried herb and earthy complexity. It’s a little rustic but delivers plenty of classic Bordeaux character to enjoy over the medium term.
