Château Tanunda 50 Year Old Vine Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

Share

From the Valley floor of Bethany where the first vines were planted in Barossa, comes this wine made from 50 year old vines. There is a sentimental aroma, almost wistful in its Cabernet charm. A briar of blackberries, dark plums and cigar room. Dark chocolate and cedar. The palate is quite bright with a coolness on the palate, no not herbaceous but cool in its filigree of acidity and powdery tannins. Once again this shows its pedigree by providing a texture of silk, followed up by some cassia and mocha spice. This is drinking very well now, made in a way that modern Barossa can and yet will live quite happily in your cellar for another 8-12 years further. I would go for a shepherd’s pie or dare I say it a very good meat loaf, ask the best butcher you know.
