Chateau Tanunda The Château Single Vineyard Eden Valley Chardonnay 2020

Share

You can see this wine flying out the door at Chateau Tanunda’s impressive winery and cellar door because it delivers what most people want in their chardonnay – bags of flavour wth a nice dollop of oak, hallmarks of the wines that put Australian chardonnay on the international map.

Bright medium straw in colour, it is a generous and well made chardonnay with layers of melon, pear and citrus fruits that show the cooler side of Eden Valley. There is also savoury complexity with oatmeal barrel ferment and spicy oak adding nice detail. The palate then shows pleasing balance between fresh acidity and hearty fruit before proceeding to a creamy textured finish. It’s a little old school, but good old school, with plenty of appeal for early drinking.
