Circulus Wine Pinot Noir 2024

Share

This is a savoury affair at heart. Notes of snapped twig, desiccated coconut, nutmeg, dried cherry, and Kirsch open into an autumnal medley of tilled earth, forest cake, and cherry ripe. There’s an overlay of cherry molasses, clove-studded orange, and rhubarb that adds further dimension. It’s a unique profile, with fruit playing a supporting role to more earthen, savoury tones. The palate is sappy in texture and echoes the savoury nuance – dried cherry, forest floor, decaying leaves, cherry ripe, and kirsch, all framed by firm, chalky tannins and earthy acidity. It draws to medium length. I do feel that a touch more fruit weight and vibrancy would bring greater balance to the wine’s earthy structure.
