Clarnette & Ludvigsen Reserve Shiraz 2017

Share

Sourced from the mid-slope and from low yielding vines this is matured in French Oak hogsheads for 15 months. The stellar vintage shows here in the glass with a medley of red plums, blackberries and rhubarb stalks. A fine spice line of white pepper, fennel seed and pulled paperbark brings the Grampians landscape into the glass. The larger format French oak just cradles the fruit adding sinewy fine tannins. This is a lovely wine that is drinking well now with some billy tea lingering for long moments. This will continue to age well over another 5-8 years. If drinking now go for scotch fillet and pepper gravy.
