Colab & Bloom Fleurieu Sangiovese 2020

The Fleurieu Peninsula is one of the most undervalued wine regions in Australia. While it is located just south of McLaren Vale, this region’s climate and conditions are so different that you can hardly tell. There is much more ocean influence which gives the local wines a delicious bite, like this Sangiovese.

It’s a beautiful deep ruby red with aromas of diving into a bowl of red cherries, with a faint leafy edge. It’s followed by a fruity palate showing jubey flavours with an attractive touch of baked earth and dried herbs. It’s only mid-weight with supple tannins so well pitched for casual, mid-week drinking. Enjoy it with posh bangers, mash and onion gravy.
