Corryton Burge The Brigadier Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

Share

Barossa fruit, eight months of oak maturation and unmistakably Cabernet on the nose, opening with choc mint, red compressed fruits and black-fruit sweetness. There’s a savoury red earthiness and autumnal undergrowth intermingled with crushed violets and aniseed, the mix providing lots of perfumed pleasantness. The palate has a slatey mineral freshness that belies the ripe black fruit spectrum. Acidity is vibrant, if not a touch angular, and tannins are silty, if not a touch rough around the edges. A very pleasant fuller-bodied Cabernet and one that should delight many.
