Curtis McLaren Vale Small Batch Grenache 2023

Share

The Small Batch program here throws up some gems on occasion and this is one of them. McLaren Vale Grenache from 120-year-old bush vines was always going to be exciting. Fermentation was over two weeks before maturation in a mix of American oak barrels, new and two years of age. Pale crimson, this is a soft and supple style with notes of raspberries and strawberries, freshly turned earth, smoked meats, animal skins and hints of root vegetables. A lingering finish, with decent length, this is very attractive and can be enjoyed anytime for at least the next six years. Lots to like.
