DC Shaw Morialta Chardonnay 2022

Share

Ripe granny smith apple melds with cinnamon spice to bring an inviting apple crumble aroma, followed by nectarine and ripe lemon. There is a pastry dough presence with air, and a gentle brine element thereafter. There’s the classic aromatic power of Adelaide Hills Chardonnay, but it’s kept in check by precision and focus. Good hit of texture on the palate, which is led by apple, clotted cream, cinnamon, and puff pastry before making way for nectarine and some fresh lemon cut. Beautiful acidity here and gossamer phenolics, cutting the cream and providing a long frame on which the fresh green and yellow fruits carry through. Very good.
