Nebbiolo sparkling? Don’t mind if I do. Appearing like a rosé with bubbles, the vibrant nose presents red fruits and spice. There’s even some slight tannin grip on the palate, which is chalky, drying and very pleasant. As is my wont, I tried it immediately after opening but also left it until the bubbles had dissipated, finding that the base wine is very nice, showing great varietal character. De Bortoli obviously agrees as they released the Vinoque Nebbiolo Rosé, which is essentially this wine without the fizz.
