Here we have a good introduction to slightly old school Chianti – so break out the Margherita pizza! Quite deep in colour, there is a nice blend of ripe dark cherry fruits plus a generous serve of more rustic baked earth, tar and dried herbs, with a touch of animal skins thrown in. Bone dry, this is a juicy little number on the palate with an upfront acid bite to dark berry fruits with tannins soft and approachable plus touches of cigar box suggesting this wine is at its peak right now. Enjoy with charcuterie or pizza classics.
