While Malbec often plays a partner role in the Clare Valley with Cabernet Sauvignon, it’s an enticing lesson to see it performing solo, especially when it is pure of voice as it is here. There’s a lovely blue floral and Spring season bushwalk aroma to begin, then juicy, crimson plum and cherry fruit squeezed into the palate and a pitch perfect backing of oak, baking spice, acidity and soft tannins. A pleasure to drink.
