Here we go round the mulberry bush, the mulberry bush, the mulberry bush. Here we go round the mulberry bush, so early in the morning!
This classic toddler’s nursery rhyme references a bush, but mulberries grow on trees. Domaine Naturaliste’s Morus cabernet is named for the mulberry tree Morus australis and for the mulberry character found in the heritage Margaret River Cabernet ‘Roche’ clone used for this wine. And it’s mulberry all right; intense concentration of mulberry, with black cherry and vanillin oak as bouquet with a hint of scrunched autumn leaves. It is fleshy and super appealing; a big ripe embrace of a wine with body, structure, lengthy finish and it’s delicious. It reminds me I don’t drink enough Cabernet by half. Drink now or hold for that toddler’s 18th. Yum.
