Double Oaks Macedon Ranges Chardonnay 2020

Share

If you are a fan of big, powerful Chardonnays then the Double Oaks is probably not for you. But if delicacy and finesse is your style of choice then walk this way with a wine that shows more than a touch of French flair and a strong resemblance to the wines from Macon at the southern end of Burgundy. Bright mid straw, it is a pure and elegant wine with a combination of pretty, ripe fruit with melon and citrus plus savoury barrel ferment and subtle spicy oak, with a cashew-like nutty sweetness in the background. Dry and tangy, there is good focus and concentration with a silky texture before delivering a long and fine finish. Good signs here from a relatively new player in the Macedon ranges.
