Raga Sangiovese 2025

Langhorne Creek Sangiovese has been one of former sommelier, now winemaker, Sid Pachere’s keener arrows in the past few years, often in blends but here solo, presenting his oft-seen manner in lighter to medium bodied styled red wines. It has the florals and gravels of the variety’s aromatic lexicon, a suggestion of sour cherry, the fruit clearly picked early, flavours emerging in their fresher expression, fleshy, juicy, tangy, taut with underlying acidity and associated pithy tannins. Crying out for a plate of smoked and cured meats, or a tomato based braise. The wine reaches its best notes and comes alive when at such a table.
