Elderton Eden Valley Chardonnay 2025

Share

The higher altitude vineyard from which this wine was sourced has certainly helped in this warm, dry season. It comes from Eden Valley, and the vines are now approaching an average of 30 years of age. The nose is a citrusy, white peach, nectarine-like combination with a creamy cashew complexity. The palate has an edgy, crunchy, refreshing zestiness about it, with a spicy finish. It was barrel fermented in French oak with some malolactic fermentation and bâtonnage for about eight months. It’s resulted in a wine of some delicacy, yet there is a driven power here that provides for a complex, interesting wine.
