Evan Evans Rosso 2022

Described as very detailed, virtually natural, and verifiably scientific. The wines of Jermey Evan Evans speak not just of place but also of discovery and innate creation. The Barossan and Eden Valley led brand shows a true love and passion for the unknown, unique and yet to be harnessed. Evan Evans focuses on wild yeasts, blending and a deconstruction of the whole before finding the equilibrium in its parts. For those still seeking, you’ll find a childlike curiosity and sense of adventure in these wines. And if you are lucky, a little more about yourself too.

A blend of Montepulcaino, Shiraz, Mataro and Nero d’Avola. The wine shows a mix of blackberries, juniper and sweet red bean. Cajun spice, sweet paprika and river red gum. Morello cherry skin and terra cotta clay. The palate sits upright with crunchy acidity and fine bone tannins. Savoury and yet refreshing it’s equally fruit forward wine too. The power is in its food friendly tannins and underground avenues of spice. Drink now and will cellar 2- 3 years. This screams for chargrilled meats and wouldn’t go astray next to a kebab with good mates.
