Evans and Tate Metricup Road Chardonnay 2023

Share

A Margs Chardy that comes in under the $25 bracket is a rarity. This punches nicely in its weight category, with fruit freshness, vibrancy and varietal characteristics, if in the more simple spectrum. Light butterscotch, apricot, thyme, a little flint and ripe honeyed florals. The palate is broad yet well-textured, with a grip that holds on until the next sip and a punchy acid drive. Oat biscuit oak and a decent level of toast is dominant, yet it plays a part in the bigger picture, complimenting the fruit ripeness and the creaminess from 60% Malo. A solid drop at an unbeatable price point, it’s easy to see that this has already sold out online directly.
