Geoff Merrill Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

The color in this is quite extraordinary. It’s almost black and opaque. This is a powerhouse, a Cabernet, albeit carrying a high degree of elegance. Deep, dark chocolatey black currant aromas abound on the nose, with a faint bay leaf-y tobacco thread. The palate is rich, intense, and powerful with plenty of oak, but with the tannin structure and the fruit weight to support it as it extends through to a sustained, logically long finish. Impressive wine.
