Roussanne is still quite an uncommon sight as a sparkling, but its typical characters make it a good choice for bubbles. There’s waxiness, citrus, white flowers and peach, with some biscuit and nuts, which all flow effortlessly from the glass. The fruit is very bright on the palate, as well as a saline and chalky aspect which melds well with the creaminess of the bubbles. For the price, it packs tremendous value and is great as an aperitif or even with cheese or seafood.
