Richard Hamilton Little Road Shiraz 2022

This is about digestibility and easiness more than anything else, though there is sufficient tannin structure to hold up to food. It ticks the right boxes in the sub-$30 zone. Black cherry, spiced plum, gentle coal, vanilla essence, black pepper and new leather define a somewhat reticent aromatic profile that emerges more with air and increased temperature. The palate is decidedly plum-led, with a juicy sluice sitting forward in the mouth followed by subtle pepper spice, cherry, cedar and subtle clove. There’s gentle structure through the finish that acts as a foil to the wine’s juicy fruit profile.
